Welcome to ECSD PASS: Part-Time Alternative Self-Paced School

PASS (Part-Time Alternative Self-Paced School) is an Alternative Education high school program designed for students who want a flexible, individualized approach to learning. This after-hours program supports students in completing high school courses at their own pace, with guidance from certified teachers.

PASS empowers students to take ownership of their education while receiving the support they need to succeed.

What PASS Offers:

Self-paced learning through modular and a variety of other course learning materials

Individualized student support from certified teachers
Flexible goal-setting and scheduling
All assessments are completed in person

Program Schedule:

Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Duration: September to June

Locations: Offered at four ECSD sites (see below)

Key Dates:

PASS Semester 1 - Registration opens August 14, 2026

PASS Calendar Semester 1: September 9, 2026 - January 11, 2027

PASS Semester One Registration Opens: August 14, 2026

October 5, 2026 - last day to complete ECSD Notice and Consent Human Sexuality Form (complete online, SchoolEngage)

Registration and payment closes: October 28, 2026 at 12 pm.

Course materials available for pick up on September 9, 2026

PASS Semester 2 - Registration opens January 13, 2027

PASS Calendar Semester 2: February 8, 2027 - May 31, 2027

PASS Semester Two Registration Opens: January 13, 2027

March 8, 2027 - last day to complete ECSD Notice and Consent Human Sexuality Form (complete online, SchoolEngage)

Registration and payment closes: March 17, 2027 at 12 pm.

PASS ECSD Registration – Important Information

✅ Registration Details	Registration for the 2026–2027 school year opens August 14. Open to all ECSD students in Grades 10–12. Students must be under 20 years of age on September 1, 2026 to be eligible. *Upon payment, PASS students may pick up their materials at the PASS location they are registered at, during PASS operational hours. 4 pm to 7 pm Monday and Wednesday.
📘 Enrollment Guidelines	Students can be registered in PASS and another high school at the same time. Students cannot be enrolled in the same course at two different schools simultaneously. Students must meet the prerequisite requirements for any course they wish to enroll in. Grade 9 students (in the current school year) are not eligible to enroll in PASS courses.
📞 Communication & Support	Teachers will keep students and parents informed of progress on a regular basis. Frequent communication is encouraged — in person, by phone, through Microsoft Teams, or by email.
