Loving God,
From the Gospel on Tuesday we heard how Zacchaeus climbed a tree just to see Jesus—and how Jesus looked up, noticed him, and called him by name. Lord, remind us today that You know each of our names too. You know our hopes, our struggles, and the quiet things we carry that no one else sees.

Give us the courage to “climb the tree” in our own lives—to make the effort to draw closer to You, to look for You in our school, and to choose moments of kindness and faith. And when we do, help us to hear Your voice calling us personally, reminding us that we matter to You.

May we move through this day confident that we are known, loved, and called by name.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Hello, this is Yael from Mosaic Club, and here’s a fun fact about Hindu culture for Hindu Heritage Month: Hinduism is the third-largest religion in the world and one of the oldest living faiths, with roots going back over 4,000 years. It has no single founder and no single central sacred text, unlike many other religions.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.

19 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

The Word of the Lord.  Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Hello, this is Hiwot from Mosaic Club, and here’s a fun fact about Hindu culture for Hindu Heritage Month: The word “Hinduism” is quite new and people only started using it a few hundred years ago as the beliefs and traditions that make up Hinduism are thousands of years old and were practiced long before the word existed.

Metis Week: The Métis ribbon skirt is a cultural garment that blends Indigenous and European traditions, dating back to the 1700s when silk ribbons arrived through the fur trade. Métis women incorporated these ribbons into clothing as an expression of identity, spirituality, and family or community colors. Though its use declined during periods of colonial suppression, the ribbon skirt survived within families and experienced a strong revival in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Today, it symbolizes Métis pride, resilience, and womanhood, and each skirt is designed to tell a personal or cultural story.

The Metis Sash, historically, it was a practical tool for voyageurs and hunters—used as a belt, rope, or protection from the cold. Each area had their own unique sash.  Today, the sash is worn to honour who they are, where they come from, and the ongoing strength of their Nation.

The metis symbol is an infinity symbol. It represents a people who will continue forever. the infinity symbol stands for Métis continuity, unity, and cultural strength.
