Program Overview

In partnership with NorQuest College, ECSD Dual Credit Program offers courses for students interested in getting started on their studies in Health Care Aide. 

Learners prepare to be a part of a health-care team in a variety of different settings, providing a high level of front-line care to clients in need of assistance.

Course Details

Semester I September 10, 2025 - December 17, 2025: HLTH 1032 Human Body, Health and Chronic Illness

Students will read about and discuss common chronic illnesses and will acquire the skills to provide safe care based on best practices according to clients’ diagnoses, needs, and care plans.

Semester II February 4, 2026 - May 27, 2026: HLTH 1031 Health Care Aide Roles and Responsibilities

This course has a lab component; it focuses on the roles and responsibilities of a health care aide working in a variety of employment settings.

Admission Requirements: Enrolled concurrently or completed English 20-2 (60% min) or English 30-2 (55% min)

Location: Holy Trinity Catholic High School, 7007 - 28 Ave

Day/Time: Wednesdays 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

Additionally, students must be available to attend one lab (Saturday, April 26th or May 10th) from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

$90.00 Caution Fee (Refundable upon the return of textbooks/materials in good condition)
